Heaton Place is an independent retirement community comprised of sixty one bedroom suites (ranging from 630 to 675 square feet) and 16 two bedroom suites (approximately 1,100 square feet). All suites boast full kitchens, with a complete appliance package. Adjoining the residential suites is our 7,587 square foot amenity area providing dining, lounge, recreational, administrative, social, and activation areas.

Suites are available for rent pursuant to the terms and conditions of our Monthly Occupancy Agreement. Monthly Occupancy Fees vary depending on the type of suite selected, the number of occupants who are a party to the Monthly Occupancy Agreement, and the type of service package chosen by the occupants. Heaton Place offers two service packages: the Convenience Package and the Lifestyle Package.

The Convenience Package

Our Convenience Package includes the following: use of suite, local telephone service, unsecured wireless internet in common areas, use of laundry rooms, 24-hour wireless electronic monitoring, 24-hour staffing, fire and emergency planning programs, use of landscaped grounds, snow removal, geothermal heating and air conditioning, basic cable television, hydro, water and sewer, gas, garbage and recycling programs, weekly housekeeping, weekly laundering of bath and bed linens, video surveillance, fire system monitoring, use of wellness centre, daily status checks, building property and commercial liability insurance, social and recreational programming, use of facility shuttle van and use of amenity centre. Residents opting for the Convenience Package are typically individuals who wish to continue cooking their own meals in the privacy of their suite. Convenience Package residents and their guests may purchase meals in the main dining room on an a la carte basis.

Lifestyle Package

Residents not wanting to cook their own meals can opt for the Lifestyle Package and not only receive all of the services offered under the Convenience Package above, but also our buffet breakfast and lunch service, a four-course dinner meal and the daily refreshment bar, all of which are served in our comfortable and inviting dining room area.

Please note: both our service packages include geothermal heating and air conditioning, hydro, unsecured wireless internet in common areas, basic cable television, complimentary laundry rooms, local telephone service (except long distance) and use of facility shuttle van. Some or all of these services can be an additional charge at other retirement facilities.

Services Not included

Services not included in our Monthly Occupancy Fees are premium cable television channels and services, secured personal wireless internet, long distance charges, parking, any services provided by a barber or beautician, guest meals and use of a guest suite (if available), replacement of personal wireless pendant, personal laundry, dry cleaning, carpet cleaning, goods provided through the sundry shop, costs of any “special” dietary requirements, personal property and liability insurance, repair and maintenance of a resident’s personal property, costs or charges required under a Pet Agreement, assisted living services offered (if applicable), and any additional services of any kind or nature that are, or might be, contracted directly by the resident with a third-party provider.

Assisted Living

Should demand warrant, the introduction of an Assisted Living Program will be evaluated by management.
